SKILLD DETROIT LLC — PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: June 2026
1. Information We Collect: Account details (name, email, phone, service area), job details and photos you upload, identity and verification documents, background-check results (via our provider), payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers), and device, usage, and approximate location data.
2. How We Use It: To create and manage your account, match homeowners with tradespeople, process payments through escrow, run background checks, provide support, prevent fraud, comply with law, and improve the platform.
3. How We Share It: With the other party to a job (limited info needed to complete it), with service providers (e.g., Stripe for payments, Checkr for background checks, Google Firebase for hosting/data), and when required by law or to protect users. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Background Checks: For tradespeople, we use a third-party consumer reporting agency to verify identity and screen criminal/sex-offender records. See the Background Check Disclosure shown during pro onboarding.
5. Data Security: Documents and sensitive data are encrypted in transit and at rest. No system is 100% secure; we work to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention: We keep your information while your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, dispute, and fraud-prevention purposes, then delete or anonymize it.
7. Your Choices: You may access, update, or request deletion of your information, and opt out of marketing messages, by contacting us. Some data must be retained to meet legal obligations.
8. Cookies & Analytics: We use limited cookies and analytics to operate and improve the app.
9. Children: SKILLD Detroit is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
